Submissions Deadline for Spring 2008 Issue is February 17, 2008.
Are you a University of Wisconsin undergraduate student? Are you an artist, author or essayist? If so, Illumination is always accepting submissions for its next issue. Follow the registration guidelines and submit your original work for a chance to be published in the journal.

Art Guidelines
All mediums are accepted.
Please include a MANDATORY artist statement. The statement can be about one piece or a series of art pieces. Also describe/include medium of each art piece.
Digital images must be:
- Scanned or digitally photographed.
- Between 600-1200 dpi.
- TIFFs, PDFs and print quality JPEGs
- Try not to go over 70 MB in size. If you cannot, please request a CD drop off via email to the Art Editor.
If you have problems or questions about creating digital images of your artwork, please email us (email address at the bottom). If you are completely computer illiterate or even just a little confused by the process, we will get someone to help you. We would not want this to be a reason that good artwork is not submitted.
Literature Guidelines
All forms are accepted.
-Submission must be under 5000 words.
-PLEASE specify whether it is poetry or prose.
Essays Guidelines
Illumination welcomes essays from all branches of the humanities including history, philosophy and many other forms of scholarship.
We also seek memoirs, cultural criticism and observation pieces
- Pieces should be between 500 and 12,000 words in length.
- Pieces longer than 6,000 words will not be published unabridged.
- All submissions should use the Chicago citation format.
